About Pixiverse

We live in a globalized world, which has never before been the case. We have a lot of common problems. If the North-American real estate business crashes, the whole world will suffer from an economic crisis. If a country gets near state bankruptcy in the Euro zone, it will affect other countries. If we, independently of which country, damage our environment, it will affect everyone. We could go on and on with other examples.

But are we able to find solutions together to our global problems? We have internet, one would say. It all connects us all. We could say and write anything on the internet, and the whole world can see and hear it. Then, why do different nations believe in alternative history? Why do we believe in alternative realities in major matters? Why are there hoaxes, distortions, manipulation?

Though the world wide web connects us, we all come from different backgrounds. We grow up with different cultures, we speak different languages. Shaking the head in one culture means no, in another one it means yes. An act in one country could be regarded as heroic, in another one it could be considered cowardly. Somewhere something is accepted; somewhere else it is scandalous. Something that is somewhere completely obvious; somewhere else, it may be seen as completely incomprehensible and inconceivable. Yet, we still depend on each other and we should face our deepest and most threatening problems together.

Though, the internet connects us all, it is not enough for thinking together globally. Even if there were a list with 7 billion email addresses, we could not discuss how to accord our beliefs and how to face our problems. Only chaos would turn out, as we need proper digital infrastructure and instructions so that we could systemize the information.

Though, the internet connects us all, the information going through is segmented. People with different views discuss their problems in different places. There are many groups and cliques. There are different views about racism in a human rights activists’ group and in a racist, nationalist group. There are different disputes about abortion in a liberal and in a conservative group. There are different discussions about women’s rights in western and in eastern groups. Every formation has their online communities, social networks, forums, newspapers, television channels, etc. But, these all are about one theme. These people when they meet on the internet start a never-ending quarrel about who is right, and they both believe they are, but in the end we do not get the answer; which means, it was almost for nothing, maybe only the wanderer comment reader would enjoy it. And there are conflicts even within the groups. But withouta self structuring mechanism, it turns out to be only chaos.

On the other hand, the ones who have money and power can spread any information that may be unintentionally wrong, or intentionally distorted. They can pay hackers to create bots that make fake posts, they can pay journalists to write untrue articles, blog posts, etc. Money and power is a huge “loudspeaker”, and it is a perfect way to manipulate people. But, can we create a communication platform where money and power does not matter at all ? Can we create a platform, where only the quality and the originality of the thoughts matters and the thoughts that are truly worth spreading?

But how can we solve this? We believe that by creating a new communication platform, we could provide the solution. Until now, our problem was that our mutual problems were mostly discussed in separate groups, so we talk about them but never reach a solution. We need a resolution, where we all start from the same starting point. As there are many languages that separate us, we need a solution which does not rely on languages. As the traditional media could be distorted by opinion leaders’ borders, interests and their manipulations, we need solution where we all simultaneously, together and equally take part and create contents together. As social media filter the (for some parties) uncomfortable themes, hoaxes spread widely. We need a solution where false information falls out, and the community will be able to protect itself from it. We need a solution where we do not need algorithms and filters to organize information. As behind some information there are money and power interests, we need a solution where the information cannot be spread by money and power, rather in a democratic way, pursuing the intent of the community.

Pixiverse is based on a new technological discovery. It is a Visual Social Network that can enable the whole mankind to ‘literally’ be on the same page and even ‘see the whole picture’. It is a website with an infinite canvas, where an infinite number of people can draw together one single image.

The basic ideas behind Pixiverse are: What if the whole world could create a single piece of art together? What would it look like? What would it tell us about ourselves? How would it affect the way we think?

Pixiverse makes an attempt to answer all these questions.

A common start position

In the case of Pixiverse every user sees the common picture. The picture is very detailed and endlessly zoomable, the basic picture is the same for everybody. (Science perceives our world at about 1062 scale. Today the smallest pixel in Pixiverse is 1070 times smaller than the whole picture. It means the full scale of Pixiverse is already bigger than the whole known universe.) So we do not see alternative realities, neither a filter bubble, rather a common picture which is created by creativity and thought. However, we can zoom in to see the details endlessly, and some communities may concentrate in some parts. Still, it is our own choice to decide where we go in the picture, it is not a filtering algorithm that assorts the content, without our knowledge and permission. If a part of our mutual picture starts to grow, we see it, even if we do not like it or do not care. Despite that, it represents things that are distant from us, or from our interests, it is just in front of us; the question is why it affects everyone. No one can a hide in their groups. Everybody here is part of the whole. Just like in reality.

Independent from language

Visual thinking preceeds linguistic thinking. It is the same in everyone, independently of where we were born. First, we start thinking in pictures, then we learn how to speak. That is why we think Pixiverse needs to work on visual level/base. It is a world canvas, which connects us all. In pictures, just like in music, there are no linguistic boundaries.

Community

Pixiverse has no author, we are all together. It does not reflect the thought of one author, or one artist, but rather all our thinking and thoughts. Everyone can affect our common thinking, even by a stroke of the mouse, but we build the picture together. There is no manipulation. No one gets a “digital loudspeaker” because of his/her financial possibilities, so as to shout over the others. Only the quality and uniqueness of the individual’s thinking can start a wave, which spreads the visual motif, then the community further develops and spreads it.

Democratic and impossible to censor

The main principle of Pixiverse is the principle of proportionality. This means that here what happens in the sand pit: when one kid builds a beautiful sand castle for hours, then another one destroys it in a second cannot happen. Here, what was created in an hour, can only be destroyed or altered in an hour. So, if someone wants to censor a thought that is represented by millions, they would need millions of people to make that thought disappear. It is impossible with upper power. If millions fight over a part with millions, it is not an upper power, but rather a value and belief combat of communities. It is a real pixelfight. A conflict zone of Pixiverse will be unstable until a consensus is reached. That is what makes it beautiful. By its very nature, Pixiverse helps to surface conflicts and dissolve them.

Without fear

On Pixiverse we are totally free to create whatever we want to. We are present in the community not with our personal identity, but with our thoughts and acts. It is fundamentally impossible to track back who drew a line on Pixiverse and why. The image is too complex, each pixel could be created by someone else. We are in perfect safety, and we can convey our thoughts to the world without any fear.

Self-healing

Pixiverse repairs itself just like Wikipedia. If someone makes some dirt or draws something that most users do not like, it gets cleared from the picture after a while.

Simple

Last but not least, since Pixiverse is created to all of us, it is very important that despite the complexity it can contain, the basic logic of usage has to be extremely simple. Here all you need to do is just draw and zoom in on the picture.

How can I be part of it?

Pixiverse is a continuously developing experiment that aims to create a common communication platform to all of us. At the first version, it was only possible to create the image by clicking from pixel by pixel. Yet that version already contained the basics which were crucial to create a method that can aggregate the imaginations of millions. Ever since, it had gone through numerous development phases, until it reached its current shape, and of course there is still a lot to do to fulfill the purpose Pixiverse was created for. But when we finally get there, we believe it will open a new era in communication.

To become a part of this new era you do not need to do anything just create. Imagine what you would say to the world or anything you would like to share and shape it into an image on Pixiverse. Reshape the motifs of others and fulfill them with your uniqueness. This is all you need to do and you can reach a huge, maybe global impact.
